Experience Art & Design That Brings People Together
Art has the power to connect hearts as much as it inspires the eye. Wright & Vandame create works and projects that blend contemporary art with the intimacy of human connection where creativity feels like a conversation and every piece can become a moment shared. Whether you come for inspiration or to share a meaningful experience, our work offers a space where design and relationships meet.
180 at BOZAR, Brussels
“180” (2015) is a three channel work of 180 minutes of 125 exercise videos from the late 1970s to the present. Each video is a sixty minute composite sourced from YouTube ranging from anonymous and celebrity instruction videos to commercials and sports competitions of body builders and gymnasts. “180” allows the viewer to inhabit three different times and spaces in any given moment, as well as act as a time capsule and explore the evolving relationship between pop culture, the body and identity.
The film was first presented as part of Art Gym at fig.2 in the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London in 2015. Subsequently, the work has been presented at Chi-Wen Gallery, Taipei in 2016 and as part of Marvin Gaye Chetwynd’s performance ‘Insanity!’ at BOZAR, Brussels in 2017.

180 was presented as part of a restaging of Marvin Gaye Chetwynd’s performance Insanity! at BOZAR, Brussels on the 23rd April 2017. The work was originally developed as part of Wright & Vandame’s Art Gym within the fig-2 programme. This adaptation of Insanity! was part of a series of performances organised by BOZAR in conjunction with their exhibition ‘Yves Klein: Theatre Of The Void.’

About Josh Wright
Hi, I’m Josh Wright
For me, art has always been about more than what you see it’s about what you feel and who you share it with. My practice draws from painting, performance, and installation, using each medium as a way to capture moments of intimacy and human connection. Some works are playful, others contemplative, but all of them carry the same intention: to remind us that creativity can be as personal and meaningful as a date, a conversation, or a glance across the room.
At Wright & Vandame, I focus on creating experiences that transform art into a dialogue between people. My role is not only to design visuals, but to design encounters occasions that allow relationships to grow through creativity. Art, for me, is a living language, and every project is an open invitation to connect.
What We Do
At Wright & Vandame, we create art that goes beyond walls and galleries. Our work focuses on the meeting point between creativity and relationships transforming art into shared experiences that can feel as meaningful as a first date, a deep conversation, or a lasting memory.
We bring together diverse practices painting, performance, installation, and collaborative design to build projects that don’t just stand alone but invite audiences to take part. Each artwork is conceived as a connection: between artist and viewer, between two strangers, or between partners who experience something new together.

About Guillaume Vandame
My passion lies in bringing people together through contemporary art. While many artists create objects to be observed, I am interested in creating experiences that are lived performances, participatory works, and installations where the audience’s presence completes the artwork.
For me, art is not a solitary act but a shared conversation. Just like a date can turn into a story you’ll always remember, my projects aim to transform simple encounters into meaningful connections. Each piece is an open invitation: to engage, to laugh, to question, or simply to feel present with another person.
At Wright & Vandame, I seek to blur the line between artist and viewer. Whether through an intimate performance for two people or a large collective installation, my goal is always the same to use creativity as a bridge between strangers, partners, and communities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience?
Not at all. Our events and projects are designed for everyone whether you’re an artist, a beginner, or simply someone curious about contemporary art. All you need is openness and a willingness to take part.
Are Wright & Vandame events free?
Yes. All of our public programmes are completely free to attend. We believe art should be accessible to everyone.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
No materials are required. Just bring yourself and if you’d like, a friend or partner to share the experience with.
What kind of events do you host?
We create a wide range of participatory works: performance art, installations, workshops, and social events. Some are playful and light, others are reflective and intimate.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many people come on their own and end up meeting new people through the experience. Each project is a shared space, much like a social gathering or even a first date. In fact, the atmosphere often sparks conversations about human connection sometimes compared to the way people discover relationships on unexpected platforms, even on things as unrelated as forums or legit mail order bride sites. Here, though, the focus is always on creativity, community, and shared exploration.
How can I stay informed about upcoming events?
You can join our mailing list or follow us on social media to get updates about future free programmes, workshops, and performances.
