Let's Get Together at Wimbledon Space, London

On the 24th November 2016 the artists Wright & Vandame hosted a participatory dinner themed around the American national holiday Thanksgiving. ‘Let’s Get Together’ was developed as part of the exhibition ‘What Happens To Us’ at Wimbledon Space, London curated by Marsha Bradfield and Amy McDonnell.

In part influenced by Alison Knowles and her iconic participatory work, “Make a Salad” (1962), first presented at the ICA and encouraging the audience to collectively make a salad and share as a meal. In this nature, the intention for ‘Let’s Get Together’ was to create an immersive, inclusive meal and actively encourage chance encounters, inviting attendees to share what they are grateful for and be more mindful of their lives.
