Open House Residency, Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge

Wright & Vandame have been announced as the first artist collective to be Artists-in-Residence with Kettle’s Yard for their Open House Residency 2019-20.

For this residency the artists have become particularly interested in the founder Jim Ede's relationship to Mental Health. Jim Ede suffered from PTSD trauma following his time as a soldier on the Western Front, during the First World War, before he was posted to India in 1917. Linking the project to Kettle's Yard and the house itself Wright & Vandame have become interested in how physical space can impact on our individual sense of wellbeing.

On the 10th of October (World Mental Health Day) the artists lead a Guided Meditation Performance A Way of Life at Kettle's Yard, the meditation is also available on the Kettle’s Yard website here.
